HERlarious - Virtual Reality

How Humour Can Help You Thrive

Thursday 23rd April 6.30pm to 7.30pm BST on Zoom

Faced with one of the most challenging times of our lives, find out how to focus your creativity for a positive outcome when this is all over. From isolation comes inspiration and our innate female sense of humour gives us strength and resilience.

Wellbeing is paramount for personal and business survival so we’re creating this social forum where we will help you express yourself physically and mentally with a few endorphin and morale-boosting laughs along the way.

Hosted by Lynne Parker, founder of Funny Women, a WEConnect International certified women’s business enterprise, this session will feature two micro-workshops and some brilliantly funny entertainment.

Lynne Parker is the award-winning producer who created Funny Women In 2002, now the UK’s leading community for female comedy helping women to perform, write and do business with humour. The Funny Women Awards are now running online in their 17th year and Lynne is usually busy producing live shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and all over the UK at this time of year. An experienced coach, Lynne also works with people in business and public life based on stand-up techniques to improve self-confidence and presentation skills.

Finding Focus and Inner Calm with Jenny Bolt
Easy to do yoga and meditation techniques for you to do every day to boost your mood, improve your concentration and balance your chakras. Even when the thought of actually harnessing your inner calm seems impossible in isolation, Jenny will combine her physical and comedic skills to help you tune in and focus your mind and body.

Jenny trained as an actress, director and qualified yoga teacher. She is also an award-winning stand-up comedian, a skilled freelance workshop facilitator, Jenny coaches individuals in presentation skills, working regularly with Funny Women providing workshops and coaching strategies for many of its corporate clients along with running yoga and meditation classes.

The Pressure to Perform When Things Get Tough with Rachel Creeger
Rachel recently performed at a virtual conference in Helsinki taking part in a series of online sessions about how the impact of COVID-19 has affected a variety of people. The most common comment was that this will be a time of peak creativity - after all, Shakespeare wrote King Lear while in isolation from the plague! Those are quite big shoes to fill... but Rachel will give you a few tips on how to up your game creatively.

Rachel is an award-winning comedian, director, writer and resident MC at London's pro comedy club ‘Upstairs at the Adam and Eve’. She is the only practising orthodox Jewish woman on the UK comedy circuit and a regular guest on BBC Radio London. Rachel also delivers team building sessions for corporate clients.

These two micro-workshops will be followed by entertainment from Hannah Brackenbury, winner Best Show Award in the 2019 Funny Women Awards.
Hannah is a comedy songwriter and performer. She writes original comedy songs as well as clever song parodies, she has released two albums of original material and she has performed across the UK.
