Intel Corporation and WEConnect International invite you to join us for a workshop and networking event on Thursday 2nd June 2016 in Munich.

This event is an introductory session for woman-owned businesses in Germany interested in working in Germany with multinational corporations and their supplier diversity programmes, as well as to WEConnect International.

Majority-owned women's businesses in the following sectors are welcome to attend: Technology, IT, marketing, sales, advertising, merchandise, events, HR, recruitment, training, catering, corporate services, facilities management, legal and logistics. If your business is in another sector but you are interested in attending the event, please email Maggie Berry - mberry@weconnectinternational.org.

Intel Corporation's CEO Brian Krzanich believes:

“A fully diverse and inclusive workplace is fundamental to how we deliver business results. Intel is evolving, and diversity and inclusion are among the most important forces driving that evolution and reinvention. The scope of our efforts span beyond hiring and retention to include the entire value chain, from spending with diverse suppliers and diversifying our venture portfolio, to pipeline education transformation solutions and innovative programs to combat online harassment.”

As an industry leader, Intel pushes the boundaries of smart and connected technology to make amazing experiences possible for every person on earth. Intel expects the suppliers in their supply chain to be strong partners in making their products successful and to understand Intel's goals and commitments to diversity, sustainability and education. Intel's philosophy is a diverse supply chain with full representation of diverse suppliers accelerating innovation.

WEConnect International is a corporate-led non-profit organisation that identifies, educates, registers and certifies women's business enterprises based outside of the US that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women and then connects them with multinational corporate buyers. Our corporate members share procurement opportunities with us and our role is to find them majority-owned women’s businesses who can participate in their tenders with a view to them buying more products and services from women-owned businesses. More information can be found on our website: http://weconnectinternational.org/en/

A Diverse Supply Chain Inspires Innovation on 2nd June 2016:

Hear from the Managing Director of Intel Deutschland GmbH, Christian Lamprechter, and the Intel EMEA Strategic Sourcing Manager/International Supplier Manager, Megan Stowe
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear briefly about Intel's history and future, with some exiting insights in recent innovative areas Intel is moving into. Also, Intel will share details about their initiative to improve supply chain diversity with their global diversity and inclusion programme.

Workshop led by CAEvolution GmbH, Claudia Sippel & Andre Henschke:
We all need resilient strategies whether we are a large corporation or a small medium sized business. We have invited a leading woman owned consulting company, CAEvolution GmbH, who will lead a workshop called: "Resilient strategy - maintaining a balance between ends, ways and means: How does a diversity driven organisation inspire and refresh traditional business operations?" This session will look at change management through diversity - how do ideas of resilient strategies and change management capture the challenges of the 21st century’s economy in a multicultural, globalised and rapidly evolving environment? How will the integration of diversity manage the change needed in an organisation? This session will also include new ways of inspiration - a think-tank about innovation and the empowerment resulting from a successful change management in diversity-oriented organisations vs. 'traditionally‘ managed (large-scale) companies.

Presentations by VdU, Karina Storinggaard and WEConnect International
Karina Storinggaard, Managing Director SHAPE Apps GmbH and President of the Professional Women's Group of Zurich will share “More Business Less Talk or More Talk Less Business”, helping outline the necessity to network, sell and connect. Claudia Große-Leege will share insights from VdU, a leading corporate women’s network in Germany. We will also have an awareness raising talk from Maggie Berry who will enlighten us all and help us understand how WEConnect International helps women-owned businesses to succeed in global value-chains.

Round Table Discussions
A key part of the event will be the opportunity to participate in round table discussion sessions led by WEConnect International corporate members. Themes being discussed will depend on preferences selected from the list of topics below by attendees during registration:
• Challenges small businesses face when trying to work with multinational corporations
• Successfully working with corporate procurement teams
• How to conduct a meeting with a buyer
• Inside the mind of a corporate procurement professional
• Differentiating your firm - from a corporate perspective
• How to respond successfully to RFPs from global corporations

Q&A Panel Discussion
The event will close with a Q&A panel session where attendees will be able to pose questions directly to corporate members about supplier diversity and corporations successfully working with women-owned businesses.

The formal part of the event will be followed by networking over drinks and canapés - a great time to meet other woman business owners, procurement professionals and representatives from WEConnect International’s corporate members.

This event is offered to women business owners based in Germany who own 51% or more of their business and who have B2B products or services that might be bought by corporate organisations, as well as to corporates who are interested in implementing more diverse supply chains within their companies. Women-owned businesses based outside of Germany who have the capability to provide products and services to the German market are also welcome to register to attend.
