WBE 2 WBE - Collaboration Driving Success

Date & Time:
Friday, September 22, 2017 - 09:30 to 15:30

Roche, Hexagon Place, Falcon Way, Shire Park, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1TW

The WBE Council would like to invite you to attend our first WBE 2 WBE – Collaboration Driving Success event that is taking place on Friday 22nd September 2017 at Roche in Welwyn Garden City. The event is free to attend but your place must be booked online.

This is a new initiative solely for our certified WBEs and the WBE Council and I hope you will be interested in coming along!

Together, our certified WBEs generate over £150m worth of business each year and this event is an opportunity for our WBEs to get to know each other and to understand more about each other’s businesses. As the network of WBEs expands, there’s increased opportunity to work with each other and to use each other’s products and services and so we’d like to raise awareness of these opportunities within the network of our certified women-owned businesses.

The agenda for the day is designed to maximise the opportunity to connect and each WBE attending will be invited to briefly present their business to the group (a 1-minute presentation - no PowerPoints required!). There will be plenty of time for networking and we’ll also have a knowledge sharing session from World Wide Pictures on sales pipelines and building lasting business relationships. We’ll hear from Mindy Gibbins-Klein from REAL Thought Leaders about the power of networking in business. In addition, Justin Lambert from Roche – a long term supporter of supplier diversity – will share his perspectives on working successfully with multi-national corporations.

We would really love to see as many of the certified WBEs there as possible. We expect the day to be a very valuable experience for us all and one which will help us to forge new partnerships, learn new things and understand how we can all benefit more from being part of WEConnect International.

The event is free to attend and you can register for your place online here: https://wbe-2-wbe-collaboration-driving-success.eventbrite.com

The event is aimed at the owners of our certified businesses but senior staff are welcome to attend. A maximum of two representatives from each company may register.

Please note, when registering to attend, if you are planning to drive to Roche, you will need to provide your car registration number for parking. If you are coming by train, Roche have a free shuttle bus that runs from the bus station to the Roche site from bus stop 3 every 15 minutes - it has "6 Falcon Way" on the front and you will need to show the bus driver your invitation to Roche to access the bus shuttle service. Full directions to Roche can be found here.

WBE Introduction Presentations
A key focus of the day is to ensure that we all get to know each other more so each WBE will be asked to present about their business for 1 minute – we know this doesn’t sound long but we want to fit these introductions in along with time for other presentations, the roundtable discussions, networking and Q&A. Please come prepared – no PowerPoints will be shared and you’re welcome to bring flyers/handouts for the group.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Maggie or Gill on:
