AFAEMME, the Association of Organisations of Mediterranean Businesswomen

AFAEMME was launched in Spain 2002 and currently comprises 43 member organisations from 23 Mediterranean countries. AFAEMME is the largest federation of businesswomen associations in the Mediterranean area; a coordinator of European and Mediterranean business and gender projects and ground-breaking research; a networking platform for women entrepreneurs; and a Euro-Mediterranean lobby organisation.

Līdere, founded in 2003, is a non-governmental organisation that unites women entrepreneurs and female business leaders.The goal of the association is to promote mentoring in Latvia; support and increase the number of female entrepreneurs and foster the creation of new workplaces; provide free access to information and the opportunity to recieve professional advice.

Mums Mean Business

Mums Mean Business is the world’s first online crowdfunding platform dedicated to helping aspiring and existing women-led enterprises - those majority owned, founded and run by mothers - raise startup and growth capital in order to build sustainable and successful businesses. Their mission is to provide the growing number of entrepreneurial mothers worldwide with access to finance, mentoring, inspirational role models and more.

Selena - The Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Bulgaria

Selena was created by women entrepreneurs, professionals and scientists who gathered together at the beginning of 2007 in order to create round-tables involving Bulgarian and international professionals to transfer expertise and know-how to Bulgaria, aiming at establishing mutual professional relationships through an intermediation activity between institutions and enterprises. Selena was the first and the only organisation supporting and empowering women to become entrepreneurs and follow their dreams in Bulgaria.


VdU, the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs, represents the interests of their members who are primarily SMEs from industry, trade, commerce and services. VdU’s members account for annual sales of €85bn and employ 500,000 staff. Since its inception in 1954, VdU has been an important force in the German economy.

Women’s Enterprise Scotland

Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) is a community interest company, which provides inspiration, information and a voice for women in business. It promotes female entrepreneurs in the media, influences government policy and economic strategy, and collaborates with private, public and third sectors to promote women’s enterprise as an economic driver.
